Halloween Treats

Here are the treat holders I'm making for Aidan's class.  Thank goodness one of my kids still lets me stamp stuff for them.  Taryn gave it up along time ago when she asked me to "quit stamping everything I take to school."  I think she was 3.

Needless to say, Aidan's class will enjoy my need for creativity!

I mean, who doesn't love to get a Reese cup?  Well...maybe those folks with peanut allergies.  It hasn't been mentioned, so I think I'm ok.  Plus, I like to keep their teachers happy....and I happen to know that both of Aid's teachers are crafty.  As in paper crafty...not Beastie Boyz krafty.

So, here's the low down......

Designer paper cut 9 x 4 (I used Wicked Fun from the big catalog)

Score the 4" side at 1/2 on each end.
Score the 9" side at 2, 2 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6.

You'll want to cut the small flaps up to the score line.  Then trim the flaps that make the top of the box (like the picture)  I rounded the corners of the top flap (I guess this pic is actually upside down?)   Fold the bottom up and attach the sides, then the top piece will fold over.  I used my "dracula" with a popdot to keep the lid closed.

Of course, I used Batty for You set,  1 1/4, 1 3/8 and scallop circle punches.

Happy Halloween, Weenies!

12 weeks of Christmas Week 9

I'm a bit behind this week due to the virus that has descended upon my household.  Things are looking up today.  During times like these, I realize how blessed I am to be a SAHM.  I could stay home and take care of my sick punk....and then share the love with the rest of my family, as I contracted it yesterday.  So glad I don't have anywhere to be and I can lay in bed and recover.

On to the 12 weeks of Christmas.....this is week 9!  A super cute gift card wallet.   We love giving gift cards for any occasion and why not jazz it up with this cute wallet?

The "wallet" is old olive 4 3/4 x 8 1/2 ...scored at  3 1/4 and 6 1/2.  Next time, I think I'd use textured cardstock or run it thru the big shot to give it some texture.  I also rounded the corners.

Here's the inside:  there is room for 3 gift cards made by sealing Very Vanilla envelopes shut, then cutting them down to 2 3/8 and adhering them together.  I used the 1 1/4 circle and punched half of it in the center of the envelopes so the card shows through.

On the bottom, is a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 4 x 10 and scored every 2 1/2  to make it fold up accordion style.    This is great if you are giving a gift from many people.....plenty of room to sign.

idea from stamps, paper, glitter by Kerin
This is ideal for teacher, coach, bus driver, scout leader etc.

The belly band is designer paper from Jolly Holiday and is 1 1/2 x 7 1/4.  I stamped a sentiment from Perfect Punches in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched out with the scallop circle.

Enjoy!!  See you next week!

A HUGE shoutout!

It happened.....even after all the chloroxing and lysoling and wiping and cleaning on Monday after Taryn was sick with the stomach flu.....I got it.  Of course, I had a HUGE workshop scheduled Tues pm for my bestie.  Last week, she kept emailing with her head count....17 then 19 then 21 then 23! AWESOME!!!

I wasn't feeling well Tues morning when I got up, but thought I was just mental.  You know that feeling you get after you've been around someone sick.....any twinge or pain or stomach flip makes you think you have it too!   Well......I did.   I knew it wasn't fair of me to expose any of those poor folks......so like any good friend and demonstrator would do.....I made her host her own party!   There was no option to cancel with a group that big.....and my BBF (berry best friend) used to be my upline and she got me into this whole stamping biz anyway.    So, she had a clue what she was in for.   I am so very grateful for her.
And I am always in debt to my great friend and customer, Muriel, who is like my right hand woman.  She is always at my events, ready to help out, offering a hand to anyone stuggling, quick to clean up and of course, I relyed on her last night too.   Bless her heart, she came and picked up all the stuff and took it to Cindy's and helped with the make n takes.

Then there's this lady......who jumped in and helped out with a make n take too!  The three of them did my job for me while I spent my evening in the bathroom.

I want to give a huge shout out to all 3 of them for their help and support.   Even my hubs was impressed with these friends who stepped up and took over and got the job done!

Thanks so much, girls.......I owe ya big time!

Stampin' Out Breast Cancer......

one card at a time!  Last year, I decided to make some cards to donate to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.   They do good work for those newly diagnosed women....and men.

We did it again this year- a few ladies met and helped me make the cards.  I'll be dropping them off this week.

But, I always have to show you all what I'm up to......

Holiday Stamp a Stack

We held our annual Holiday Stamp a Stack on October, 17th at Norlo Community Center.  As always, we had a very good turnout....I'd say around 30?  It was a nice, peaceful afternoon of stamping, chatting and snacking.  Of course, we had doorprizes and fabulous displays.  I do have to thank my down line: Heather and Mandy for working with me to put on a great event.  And, I can't forget my fabulous customers who were make n take helpers:  Muriel and Teresa.

Here are the cards we made that day.  Each person made 3 of each project, so they left with a "stack" of cards.....ready to sign and send!

This card is mine:  It uses Welcome Christmas set and Teahouse background.  The colors are Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  It's a very quick, simple yet elegant card.  To BAM is up a bit, you could layer a strip of our crocheted ribbon over the espresso ribbon and tie a knot with an antique brad in the center.

This is mine as well....I apologize for the picture.  It's a tad blurry.  It uses Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze cardstock.  The Northern Flurry embossing folder from the holiday mini was used for the embossed snowflakes.  I added white taffeta ribbon and some rhinestone "bling" to the snowflake centers.  I stamped the saying from All Holidays and punched out with our 1 3/4 circle punch, then layered that on a piece of brushed silver punched with our new XL decorative label punch from the mini as well.   Again...cute and quick.  To BAM it up a bit, you could spritz it with Vanilla Smooch.....love a little shimmer.

This is Mandy's.....it is Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock.  She tore strips of white and sponged with navy ink to make it look like snow.  The card is embossed using the Perfect Polkdots embossing folder.   The snowman is from Tags til Christmas.  The sentiment is from Seasonal Sentiments- both in the Holiday Mini.

Another of Mandy's.  She used Bravo Burgundy and stamped images on the background using Bells and Boughs from the mini.  The designer paper is Deck the Halls and the sentiment is from Angelic Joy.  She stamped the poinsettia and spritz with shimmer paint/alcohol mixture, so there is some glitz to this one and finished it off with vanilla ribbon.

This is Heather's creation.  She used Riding Hood Red cardstock, Naturals Ivory and Old Olive.  The stamp set is Holiday Happiness (in the big catalog)  The designer paper is from Jolly Holiday and she topped off the tree with a bling brad.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 10

The weeks are flying by!  Here is week 10...Designer Paper Handbag.  Dontcha love it?  It holds 6-12 handmade A2 cards.  Yet another great idea for gift giving (super teacher gift, huh?)  Oh- A2 cards are 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 ...the standard size we make in my classes.

Ok.......here we go........

You'll need a piece of 12x12 designer (double sided) paper cut 9 x 12.  I, of course, used Deck the Hall from the Holiday Mini.

Score the 12"  side at 1", 5 1/4", 6 3/4" and 11
Score the 9" side at 1 1/2" and 7 1/2"

Using paper snips- cut the small middle flaps up the the score line....this allows you to fold the ends up to form the box.

Fold all score lines inward- except the (2) 1" flaps on the very end.  These will fold out- creating the different patterned band along the top.

From Sarah's Ink Spot Blog

Using a strong adhesive (I always prefer Sticky Strip) put adhesive on outside of the small center flaps and along the inside of the large "side" flaps (you only need to do this on the left OR right side, no need to do both)

Fold ends up and adhere firmly.

To make the handles:  use the cut offs from your 12x12.  Cut 1/2 x 12 and round the corners using the corner rounder.  To position the handles- measure 1 1/2"  in from each end and mark with a pencil.   Attach handles with sticky strip, brads or eyelets.    Embellish as desired.

Prices Reduced!

Beginning today, most My Digital Studio professional print products will be available at approximately 15-60 percent off regular retail prices. And the good news doesn't end there! Our discounted print product prices are Stampin' Up!'s permanent gift to you--and won't disappear with the tinsel, ornaments, and gingerbread at the end of the holiday season!

Stamp Club October

This was a swap from Baltimore Regionals
October stamp club came and went in a snap!  I swear, I don't know where the time goes!  Here are the projects we made...in case you were trapped under something heavy and weren't able to make it.

Love this card!  I used Peach Parfait, Soft Suede and Naturals Ivory cardstock (a touch of So Saffron for the Friends saying).  I punched 1 3/4 circle from a scrap of cardstock and used it as a mask to sponge Peach ink to make the sun.  The set is Just Believe stamped in Suede ink and of course, we can't leave out Mr. Big, so we ran the Suede piece thru using Vintage Wallpaper.

This is a great fall card.  I love the look of Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.  The set is Days of Gratitude which I received for FREE in Baltimore!  I inked the flower with Cajun/Artichoke Markers and the sentiment with Espresso ink.    I used Cajun designer paper and a piece of Espresso punched with the Scallop Trim punch.    The white piece is layered on Espresso cardstock and then raised with popdots.  This is quick and easy and I love how it turned out.

This card using embossing.  I stamped the snowflake from Northern Hearts (hostess set from the Holiday Mini) with Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with Clear Embossing powder.  Sponged a bit of Night of Navy ink around it and BAM...out pops the snowflake!  Make sure when you are done you burnish with a tissue and you'll pull off any excess ink laying on top of the embossed area (it'll keep you from saying bad words later when you realize you have ink on your fingers..trust me on this one!)  I stamped everything else with Night of Navy (the other snowflakes are from the same set) The greeting is from Sincere Salutations.  I sponged the edges with Navy ink and there is a cute and simple card.

Now, I am off for my mother/daughter weekend away and then on to the Holiday Stamp a Stack at Norlo on Sunday!   Enjoy your gorgeous weekend!!!

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 11

The weeks are flying by and here is my project for week 11.   We made these cute treat holders in stamp club last month and they are super easy and hold 3 Hershey Miniatures just perfectly.....until you have a chocolate attack and snarf those Mr Goodbars right down. I wouldn't know anything about that.   This is a cute idea for favors or teacher gifts or a little something special for your co-workers.  You could even decorate them all Halloweenie and hand them out to your trick or treaters smell my feeters!

Here's the scoop:

  • Using Mr. Big and the Scallop Envelope Die- cut 2 from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
  • On one of the envelopes- cut off the long flap on the bottom....only one ONE!  Did you hear me?  Just on ONE of the envelopes.
  • On the other envelope- score that big long flap at 1 inch.
  • Now, before you adhere them together, I would suggest doing your decorating.  Here, I used Deck the Halls paper (really....did you think I could force myself to use anything else????)  I stamped Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched out using the Word Window Punch.  I also punched the Modern Label Punch from Cherry Cobbler and attached my saying to it.
  • Match up both your envelopes and using the Small Oval Punch- punch a "handle" at the top (where the scallops are)
  • Now.....you may assemble.  I did use sticky strip on both side flaps and long bottom flap to make sure it didn't pull apart.
  • I filled with candy and tied the handle shut with our new 1/8 Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon...which is so tiny and delicate and cute.
That is it, my friends.....quick and easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I hope you are enjoying these posts......make sure to check back next week for week 10!

Welcome to the MOOvelous Stampers!

Congratulations to my newest recruits!  Patti McC and Becky L just couldn't pass up a discount, a free craft tote and a free sneak peek set - Eat Chocolate! They took advantage of a fantastic special and I am SO excited to welcome them to my group!  I know they've thought about it many times over the years.....and sometimes ya just gotta wait until the time is right!  I know, it took me about 4 years to take the plunge and I have not regretted a day yet!

Stampin' Up! (and, really, any home business) offers you the flexibility to work your business according to you.  I am blessed to still be a stay at home mom (even though the punks are in school all day), volunteer with my therapy dog, work on the farm, volunteer at school and run a stamping business.  I started out looking for a discount on the awesome products I'd grown to love and low and behold a business was there waiting for me.  I certainly am not rolling in the dough......but I do have enough of an "extra" income that I can pay for those "extras"....you know, important things like getting my hair colored, feeding my horses and running around in my Old Olive jeep!

So- welcome ladies!  I am so happy you decided to join in this adventure with me!

YES! It's true! 12 weeks of Christmas starts TODAY!

That's right......that's right.....I said it! We have 12 weeks until Christmas!!!!  <thump>.... that's the sound of you passing out because we haven't even carved our pumpkins, or Trick or Treated.....heck, we haven't even sent our Columbus Day cards yet!!!

It's ok- I got your back!  During the 12 weeks of Christmas, I post a holiday item once a week.  I 'll have a full color picture and will tell you exactly how to make it!   Sometimes it will be a card.....sometimes it will be a gift giving idea.

We'll start off slow with this cute little Christmas card.

  • cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Real Red cardstock (fold in 1/2 to make card)
  • cut 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White cardstock- stamp sentiment in Real Red ink and attach to card.
  • punch out 1 inch circle from piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock- then punch 2 3/8 scallop circle around 1 inch hole.
  • punch out 1 inch circle from another piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock- punch scallop circle around 1 inch hole.  Sponge both scallops with Wasabi ink.
  • punch 1/4 inch circles from Real Red cardstock (9 total)
  • layer small scallop on top of large scallop and attach to Whisper White card.
  • attach "berries" to wreath
  • tie bow out of Real Red 5/8 grosgrain ribbon.....attach to card using large glue dot (or snot dot as my kids call them)
Cute, Quick and Simple.......enjoy and be sure to check back for next weeks project.

Baltimore Regional

I attended a Stampin' Up! Regional meeting with some of my downline (Hi Mandy!  Hi Lois! <waving frantically>)  and we had a great time.  Regionals certainly can't compare to Convention, but it's great to get some new ideas, swap with other demos and of course, get free products!!!  I received the Days of Gratitude from the Holiday Mini and we used that set to do our make n takes for the day.

I thought I'd share the projects we made.....using Old Olive, Cajun Craze, River Rock and of course- my brand new stamp set!!

As a regional attendee.....we were offered a special incentive.  When we recruit in the next 2 weeks our new demonstrator receives a brand new, sneak peek stamp set from the Occasions Mini!   It's called Eat Chocolate and it's as sweet as it sounds!!!!  I can't show you an image, but I am going to try and find some samples (my pics from regionals didn't turn out)  I am missing one project.  I'll have to wait until I get a nice sunny day!
Now, if you have ever thought of doing what I do- which is having a very flexible business that I LOVE, earning some extra income, getting a discount on my stamping products and enjoying time with lots of fun folks, then you may want to consider Stampin' Up!

Sounds like a good deal, eh?  Well......let me sweeten the pot a little.  For the next 2 weeks, you'll get the starter kit, which includes over $300 worth of stampin' supplies and all the business items you need to get started, for only $175 (discounted from $199!) You'll also receive the GORGEOUS Greenhouse Gala craft tote (seen on the right side of my blog) for FREE ($39.95 value) and the Eat Chocolate set for free.

The best part is that you get ME as your upline!   I will do my best to help you in your Stampin' Up! adventure.
