Card of the Month

It's that time of the month again...turn the page on your calendar, because November is here.  This month and next, I will offer Christmas cards.  This is your chance to get a head start.  This card was one of mine at our last Norlo event and I just love it.  I think you will too.

On the first of each month, I will post a card that is available to you for the entire month, order as many times as you'd like.  The only thing your card won't have is the sentiment- that is customizable for your needs.

You'll receive 8 full cards with envelopes. Cards will come to you "as is"....all cutting/layering/stamping/embossing/punching etc is done.  Cards are usually fully assembled- in some cases, you may need to add a bow or pop dot an embellishment.  If I am shipping, this cuts down on bulk.

All cards will have the Angel Policy on the back to comply with Stampin' Up! rules.

Here is the card of the month for November.   All orders will be processed via Paypal....order yours today!  Please make arrangements to pick up unless you choose to have your kit shipped.

I am here to tell you, I am a digi convert.  I love being able to finish an entire year of pages in a few hours.  I love that my kids can do it too and I love that it's all saved on my external hardrive in case anything <gast> bad should ever happen, I can just reprint my pages....no added work for me and my pictures are all saved.

Enjoy Digital Scrapbooking Day and get together with some friends and work on your albums!  Digi Day is actualy November 5th, but we're gonna make it last a little bit longer!

Terrific Tool Tuesday

Today's totally terrific tool is Monoadhesive (SNAIL as SU calls it).    I don't use anything else.  I love it.  That is all.

SNAIL Adhesive    104332        $6.95

SNAIL (Simple, Neat, Affordable, In Line) provides a controlled amount of adhesive to your project so your hands and work area never get sticky. A small amount creates a strong bond, so your cartridge lasts a long time.  We also have refills that slip right into the cartridge, so you'll never find yourself without SNAIL.  You'll love this adhesive!

  • 472" of double sided adhesive
  • great for cards, scrapbooks or other projects
  • keeps fingers and art pieces free from messy glue
  • refill cartridges sold seperately
  • permanent, creates a strong bond

Stampin' Up! came out with silicone cookie stamps this year.  I don't cook or bake, so I didn't buy them.  BUT....I saw the stampers and they are HUGE!  AND....I had some of the stamped cookies, made with SU's own recipe and HOLY MACARONI....are they ever good!

So, if you're looking for a great gift of the handmade variety- check out our Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps!

WOW Wednesday in October

Hey there stampers- WOW Wednesday is coming up on October 26th at my house at 6pm.  For the past few years, I have been holding a card making night to help Stamp Out Breast Cancer.  My mother is a survivor and I have some stampin' friends who have or are fighting the battle as well!   So, for WOW Wednesday this month- we are going to hold with tradtion and get together and make some cards to donate to Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance.

We'll meet here at 6pm and I'll have 3 cards- Sharon B (who is the head of CVBCA) says she can use thank you cards, so we'll help her out.   The cost of the event is $5.00 and you'll each make 1 sample for you personally, then we'll just finish stamping the rest (I usually ahve 10 of each card) and those will go to CVBCA.  Let's Stamp Out Breast Cancer together!!!!

If you are planning on coming- please let me know, so I can be prepared.  In case you don't know about Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance, check out their facebook page HERE.

12 weeks of christmas and I'm late!

oh dear.  I just realized there are LESS than 12 weeks until Christmas and I am late getting started!  Each year, I post a project during the 12 weeks until Christmas...hoping to give you some ideas, get the creativity flowing and, well...dangit..cuz I like ya.

Here is week 12 (I am going to double up sometime to get us back on track) But, we'll start with this one:

This is an adorable little box that was part of a recruiting promotion in July.  I earned one and made it a few weeks ago.

Stampin' Up! has an ad in next month's Woman's Day magazine and to encourage folks to start crafting again, they are offering the box to EVERYONE!  The cost is $19.95 and comes with almost everything you need to make it.  All papers are precut and full instructions are included.  The only items it won't include is:
pines/pointsettias stamp set
stampin' write markers
adhesive
glue gun
paper cutter/paper snips
corner punch

Everything else is in the kit......This box is an ideal gift and is fairly easy to make.  Contact me today if you wish to order!

Merry Christmas!

WOW Wednesday (September)

I capital L-ove Wow Wednesday.  It's a fun night to really do some cool stuff....I am sure my customers were blessing me when they see how much cutting I had for them last month!

Here is what you missed:

This is the Fairy Dust technique- it doesn't show so well in the picture, but the white cardstock is covered in glitter!!!  I also used this card for my Fancy Fold Swap I was in, so you'll see it again with instructions.

To do Fairy Dust- simply cover the entire stamped image with versamark ink, then apply Irredescent Ice embossing powder and heat set.  You'll LOVE the result!

stamp set:  haunted forest in the holiday mini
cardstock:  basic gray, whisper white, tangerine tango, basic black
accessories: spiderweb folder for mr. big

I love this card, but I know the cutting was alot!  So much easier with the Paper Snips!

stamp set:  days of gratitude, curly cute
cardstock:  pool party, very vanilla, more mustard
ink:  more mustard, pool party, crumb cake, early espresso
accessories- 2 1/2 circle punch, mini clips, pop dots, scallop border punch, spice cake designer paper from holiday mini

This the faux mother of pearl technique.  It was made my Carol Barr for our technique swap, but I'm putting it here since I stole it for WOW.
Punched 2 1/2 inch circle from glossy cardstock.  Crinkled a piece of saranwrap and dipped it in Champagne Shimmer paint....dabbed it on the glossy paper and let it dry.  Then sponged ink over the dry cardstock and buffed with a tissue to remove ink from the shimmer paint.  Then stamped.

stamp set:  gently falling from the holiday mini, grateful greetings
cardstock, chocolate chip, pear pizzazz, glossy
ink: stazon black
accessories:  2 1/2 in circle punch, scallop dotted ribbon, spice cake dsp from holiday mini

Just like last year, Stampin' Up! is offering a contest for demonstrators to see if we can hit 10,000 bookings as a group, world wide!  I love a challenge, so of course, I accepted.  The grand prize drawing is for a $100 gift certificate, but even better.......if we all participate and the group reaches our goal,  ALL the demonstrators win a FREE stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog!!!!

The only catch- we have ONE day to hit this goal.  Tuesday, October 11, 2011 is the magic date....and the bookings need to be held by the end of November.  I have a few dates open between now and November 30th.  Now, here in lies my problem- I already have other committments on my calendar tomorrow including a one hour webinar on the Booking Blitz with Stampin' Up! and I have to work in the afternoon AND I have stamp club.....my window of opportunity for making phone calls is very small.

Here is what I plan to do:  if you contact me FIRST on October 11th to book your very own workshop (in your home, in my studio or even a book party) and mention my secret word found somewhere in this email,  you will receive a FREE bottle of Dazzling Details at your workshop (from the holiday mini)  Remember, your party has to be before November 30th.

Now, I am also running my own special and when you book a workshop, you have a chance at winning a $75.00 gift certificate from me to be used in December!  You earn points based on your workshop sales, new customers, outside orders and bookings.    You can read about it  RIGHT HERE.
 It just keeps getting better.

So. the secret word is PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.   Contact me tomorrow, mention the word PINK to book your workshop before November 30th.  Receive a FREE Dazzling Diamonds at your party AND a chance to win a $75.00 gift certificate.....just for saying PINK.

Technique 8 and 9

Amy Hoffman wow'd me with this one.  I'm still not 100% sure how she did it!

Versamark Resist:

1.  stamp image in desired color in classic ink on glossy cards stock
2.  color area in and around images that you want to remain white with a versamarker
3. sponge or brayer classic ink over image
4.  buff versamarked area with a tissue to remover ink and reveal "resisted' areas.

This is mine:  Frosted Acetate

run a piece of acetate (overhead transparency) through your big shot with the snow burst embossing folder.  Sand the raised edge with a sanding block to give the snowflakes a frosted appearance.

The snowflake is punched out of our silver glimmer paper and then colored with a more mustart marker to give a champagne color.

Hope you've enjoyed all these fun techniques!

Technique 6 and 7

Back on track with these techniques.....I'm behind in all the things I want to post, so I may start doubling up on some.

Here is Two Step Stamping by Andrea Messenger:

Stamp outline image in black, then stamp the solid image in Pacific Point/Daffodil Delight to fill inside the outside...get it?

And Kissing and Smooching by Heather Martin:

Kissing:
Ink doily stamp with Rich Razzleberry.  Lay stamp ink side up.  Press butterfly stamp onto inked doily stamp for a "kiss."  Then stamp butterfly onto white cardstock and punch out with butterfly punch.

Smooching:
Ink doily stamp with Old Olive ink.  Ink butterfly stamp with So Saffron ink.  "Kiss" the two together and "smooch" them by giving a 180' turn.  Then stamp butterfly on white cardstock and punch out.
