500 Club

Every year, in December, I host  my 500 club.  It's an exclusive club...only hostesses who have had a $500 (or more) workshop over the year get to come.  It's invitation only....I hire a bouncer.  So, if you try to crash- you get the boot.  I'm kidding, I'm kidding!

I like to pamper them and thank them for supporting me over the year.   I also have hostess appreciation events twice a year as well- for anyone who has hosted a party.  But, I do a little extra from my 500 Club.

This year- I had 3 make n takes ready to go:

I also had cute little favors for everyone- super cute and super easy!

Then we did our make n takes- while everyone was stamping, I picked names for doorprizes!  Everyone wins!!!

Quick and easy Christmas card using Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and Real Red

Super cute card using the laser cut doilies from Flirtatious designer paper pack and turning over to see the white.   We also used Pines and Pointsettias set.

This one had grand plans, but turned into a dud.  It looked so easy in my Stampin' Success!  We punched a strip of Whisper White and scored every 1/4 inch.  Then we punched it using the lace ribbon punch and folded accordian style using the score marks.  We tried to turn it into a "medallion" but it didn't go so well.   I think mine turned out because I had allowed my glue to dry overnight.  Oh well....live and learn.

Here is the wall of fame!

And of course, there is always one hostesses who wins the grand prize.  Congratulations to Brenda G who won a decorated card keeper box.

The we had dessert and went home.  The end.

Gift Idea

I know I gave up on the 12 weeks of Christmas....but I did promise to pass on cool stuff as I came across it.

So, here is what I made this weekend:  a very cool card holder.  Should hold a bunch of cards (great gift idea) and soooo easy to make.  I totally copied it from another demo and I'll link it up at the bottom for you to go to her tutorial.

Enjoy!

I found this online thanks to Lyssa Griffin....she's amazing!   To see the tutorial CLICK HERE

Thanks to everyone who "played" yesterday and told me how many Christmas cards you send.  WOW!   I averaged all your answers....and that was 65 cards!  That's pretty cool.

I went to do the drawing this morning and both kids were arguing over who got to pick the winner......so......I am going to have two this time!  It pays to play, right?

Lori Greenwood won the Handmade set (thanks to Aidan)
and Teresa Straley won Itty Bitty Bits (thanks to Taryn)

Hostess Challenge Winner

Way back in September, I posted a Hostess Challenge.....You can read about it here:

I had 3 hostess take advantage either by booking in home workshops or book parties.  Points were awarded for workshop totals, order amounts, outside orders, new to me stampers and workshops booked.

Deb Kauffman (153 pts)
Sue Bievenour (171 pts and 383pts)
Amy Hendricks (737 pts)

So, Amy Hendricks, you just earned yourself a $75.00 Stampin' Up! shopping spree.

Awesome!

Terrific Tool Tuesday

Today's Totally Terrific Tuesday Tool is.......our Tabletop Paper Cutter!

This cutter is $45.95.....and worth every penny.  I can say that....because mine was free (perks of being a demonstrator!)

The Tabletop Paper Cutter is a must-have! The cutter is so precise, and it won’t fray card stock. The Tabletop paper cutter can make project preparation easier to prepare—you’ll be amazed at how much faster and easier it is.

■ Very precise, won't fray card stock
■ Has safety blade
■ Trimmer measures 17-3/8” x 7-1/8” x 2-3/4”
■ Detachable measuring arm and handle can be stored in the back storage area

So, I can personally attest to the fact that it has a safety blade.  It will NOT cut you.....I have slammed that handle down with one of my fingers in the way.  Now, it hurt....like crazy....and put a slight mark in my nail, but not one drop of blood.  Wonderful for those of us with little punks who want to do what we do.

It also will cut a couple sheets of cardstock at a time.  I haven't done more than three.  My husband has.....and got it alot of trouble.  So, I'd say....stick with three.

The blade also self sharpening.  Run it up and down a few times against itself and it sharpens itself.  That's pretty cool.

I would encourage you to put this on your Santa wish......provided you aren't on the naughty list.

Feeling generous

I spent a lovely weekend at the Tree of Peace lodge at Camp Eder.  I worked feverishly on my Christmas cards and still am not done, but I had a lovely time with my stampers and scrappers.   I am in the Christmas spirit, so here is a down and dirty little gift bag.  No stamping....just uses Mr. Big and our small cello bags.   Perfect for that "little something" gift you always need.

Awesome, right?  It's sooooo much prettier in person, with the silver glimmer paper, the antique brad and our gorgeous organza ribbon.   And of course, Candy Kane Kisses....yum!

And since I'm still in the spirit....time for some blog candy.    Since so many of us make holiday goodies as gifts, how about if I give this away?

All you need to do is tell me how many Christmas cards you're sending this year.  Hand stamped or otherwise.   Leave comments here, on facebook or even email me.  I'll pick a winner on Wednesday morning (Dec 7)

WOW Wednesday

This month, we focused on using our Simply Scrappin' kits to make Christmas cards.  The Christmas Lane kit in the holiday mini was pefect for this class.  It was quite a class too!  We made 16 cards from 1/2 of the scrapping kit.....it was a marathon class, but you girls hung in there!   I hope you enjoy all your cards!
