Like.....WOW!

Fright Night was the theme for WOW Wednesday last night.  We used Fangtastic from the Holiday Mini to make this cute little dancing witchy.   I attached the rest of the images so you can see what  comes in this set.    Colors are Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  We used the Spiderweb embossing folder and the Scallop Squares Duo for Mr. Big.   The sentiment was stamped then punched with the large oval and the scallop oval.  Images were stamped using Stazon so we could water color without smearing.

This card does remind me of Witchy Poo....anyone.....anyone?  The witch from HR Puff n Stuff?   Anywhooooo, we used the Top Note die with Mr. Big and cut it in 1/2.  Using the 1 3/8 circle and 3/4 circle punches, we were able to "create" her shoes.  This is also a cute idea to do at Christmas and make them elf feet...with little bells or buttons on the tips of the shoes.   We used Pear Pizzaz, Concord Crush and Basic Black.  Her legs are Real Red and Pretty in Pink.  Buckles are Daffodil Delight.   The scallop on top used the scallop border punch, then each scallop was punched with 1/16 hole punch.

Basic Gray  5 1/2 x 4 1/4
DSP  5 1/4 x 4
 Gray strip 4 x 3/4
Black strip 9 x 1 3/4
scored at 2, 2 3/4, 3 1/2 and 4 1/4
Black 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 (4)

Now-what you've been waiting for!  The waterfall card!  We used Basic Gray, Basic Black and Wicked Fun Specialty paper from the Idea Book and Catalog.  Guess what, people?  It's FUZZY.....those black dots are flocked so they have texture.  Coolness.

The stamp set is Batty for you and you can see the images below.  Here are the dimensions:

Here is the link to Splitcoast Stampers for a full tutorial.  I did alter my card just a bit from their dimensions.  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/waterfall_card/

Status of Water Color Crayons

Watercolor Wonder Crayons are still currently unavailable for purchase. As we mentioned in a previous current update, our supplier was purchased by another company, which resulted in their relocation to a new manufacturing facility in a different country with a new staff. Because of these extraordinary circumstances, we are experiencing more difficulties than we anticipated, and we still do not know when Watercolor Wonder Crayons will be available for purchase.
We are currently working with the CEO of the company to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We will keep you updated as we receive information from the supplier.

Stamp Club September

We just finished up September stamp clubs and I thought I'd post the cards we made.

This a great masculine card- It uses Autumn Days set and Deck the Halls dsp (I TOLD you I was addicted)  The colors are Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla.    The dotted ribbon scallop punch adds a little sumthin sumthin... it's so hard for me to make a card without ribbon.  The hubs tells me boy cards don't use ribbon....so the ribbon punch will have to do!

This cute little box holds 3 Hershey Minatures perfectly!  That is until you eat them during a PMS fit.  It's made using 2 scallop envelopes.  Cut one of the "bottom" flaps off and score the other flap at 1 inch.  The handle is made using the small oval punch.  Again.....Deck the Halls.....need I say more?  Attach the 2 envelopes together with sticky strip and fill it with candy, gum, cash......a great little favor for the holidays.

This is a very quick, simple card using Printed Petals.  The colors are Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.   The background is Pretty Pattern.

Stamp Fest- part deux

Well,  I did promise to post pictures of our projects from Stamp Fest and here there are.

This little doozy was done by Lynne Peters and is a super cute idea for gift tags.  It's made from our open ended envelopes.   When opened up, it has 2 sides for little 3x3 note cards or, in this case, tags for all those Christmas gifts you'll be wrapping in a few weeks  (you do know that we will soon be entering the 12 wks of Christmas, don't you?)  And, whoa Nelly......I am READY to astound you!

Hello pretty card.....this was made by Cindy Fodor.  Don't we just love Cherry Cobbler?
This cute gift bag was done by Amanda Christman.  Bags came from a local craft store which shall not be named.  But, she doctored it up and made it B-U-tiful.

This was my card and I can not take credit for it.  I received it at my upline's meeting and fell in love, so I "recreated" it for stamp fest.  It uses Printed Petals and of course, the lovely Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  I still think it is unfair that we do not have scratch and sniff cardstock.

Connie Kaiser created this gem using Just Believe.  What a beautiful card for fall.

Stamp Fest

Chocolate Chip craft ink on Sahara Sand
WHEW!  What a day.....Stampfest was today and despite the fact that this was our 2nd one in 3 months, I think we had a good turnout.  It was an intimate group and things went smoothly.  Stampfest used to be a big "to do" in Cburg years ago with my upline and her upline.  It sort of went by the wayside and we're trying to bring it back!

We hope to make it a yearly event in September- and I already have Norlo Community Center booked for 2011....it is by far, the BEST place to have a stamp event in my opinion....which is very biased.  So, mark your calendar now for STAMPFEST 2011!!

Real Red craft ink on Very Vanilla

My day started with a flat tire and a sick kid, but I still made it to the Autism Fair to help out Kindly Canines, with my therapy dog, Abby.  Ran home in time to get calves fed and now I am blogging.  What a day!  And a gorgeous one to boot!

I will be uploading pictures of the projects, but I need some nice bright sunlight to get the best photos, so I'll show you what my demonstration was.   In the holiday mini, we have letterpress templates....kind of a kick back to old world letterpress plates from way back before I was born.  Anyway, these plates work with Mr. Big to give you a really cool debossed image on your cardstock.

How do you use them you ask?  Well.....after LOTS of practice, I can tell you.  You MUST have craft ink or some sort of pigment ink.  Shimmer paint works well too.  It does work best with our watercolor paper (since the fibers are not as tight together as regular cardstock)  You can use cardstock and I did find that vanilla and sahara sand worked really well.

All you do is cover the image with craft ink.  The layer for Mr. Big is: multipurpose platform, letterpress plate, cardstock, and clear cutting pad.  Run 'er through and .....hello gorgeous!

no ink- I sprayed Crumb Cake with water

Anniversaries- a retrospective

I have some special people in my life who just happen to be celebrating their anniversaries this month.

I want to say a VERY Happy Anniversay to:

My BBF and her hubby (today!)  I know this, cuz I was there.  I think we were, like 12 or something.  It was 1996....the year of the wedding.  Not only were the Dairy Farmer and I set to join together in holy matrimony, but I think darn near every one of our friends, cousins, neighbors and walmart greeters were doing the same and we were invited.  It was a whole bunch of fun....and fairly expensive.

My sister and her man are celebrating the anniverary of their marriage on the 24th.  I think it's 6 years?  I can't remember without looking at my T-shirt.  It was a very small, intimate wedding in a restaurant in Jersey.  They wrote their own vows and I cried.....very discretely....cuz I don't like to show emotion.  But,  when City Boy said he never imagined being married to a girl who had racoons and sheep as pets.....it just got me.   Actually- they had their first date on 9.11.01----so even though it was a pretty horrific day for our country, I got a pretty cool brother in law from the whole deal.  And......he has the cutest damn baby ever invented.....so he's got that going for him.

It just so happens that another set of "besties" has their 20th coming up on September 29th.   The Dairy Farmer and I have been  very blessed to have these folks in our lives.   It took a while to become inner circle....homegirl likes to keep people at arm's distance to make sure they are worth her time.  Well....I think we've won her over.   They are our boating friends, camping friends, fishing friends, lunching friends, vacationing friends and never once have they said they wouldn't take care of our whole zoo of animals when we want to go away.  Even if it means going on a wild chicken hunt when one of our ladies went missing.    Hopefully, we'll be able to celebrate with them on vacation in October?

So- a very Happy Anniversary to some very special people in my life.   I love you people.....and I don't care who knows it!

Latest Downloads for My Digital Studio

These cool little doodahs are the latest and greatest downloads for My Digital Studio (Stampin' Up!'s digital papercrafting software).  All you need to do to own these suckers is go to my Shop Online button and download them to your computer.....easy peasy, mac n cheesy.

They are terribly inexpensive and once downloaded, you own them FOR EV VER!  And....you don't need to have MDS to do this, if you have other paper crafting software- just save it to that.    I love MDS not only for scrapping, but I've been known to make a card or 2 using it too.  It's capable of LOTS of fun ideas....especially for the holidays!    Of course, if you would like to own MDS......I won't deny you......ask me about it today!

Someone.....send help!

I have come to the conclusion that I have an addiction.  I am seriously addicted to Deck the Halls.  Folks....this is serious, seriously serious.

I used it for stamp club this month (TWICE) and I've made at least THREE projects with it and I am giving it away as a door prize at my Holiday Stamp a stack (if I can part with it) and I just ordered 2 more packs!!!

I made this super duper cool scrap wallet this week.  I do need to thank Kim Warne, a SU demo and who had this on her website.

I totally copied her work because it was too freakin' gawjus and it used, of course, Deck the Halls.   This is seriously, more beautiful in person.  I'm serious.   I am seriously going to offer this as a class in December.    Look for more info to come.

Inside, it has uses 3 business letter envelopes, inside the envelopes is cardstock and on the cardstock is where you can put pictures!!!  Seriously!!!   Put your adorable punks pictures on there and you've get a super Christmas gift that everyone will ohhhhh and ahhhhhh over.

Who Knew?

A little birdie told me that you can customize our brads and pearl accents by coloring them with a sharpie. Well, I figured I'd try it for myself and I'll be ding donged.....it does work! And guess what else? It works on those rhinestones too! They aren't quite as shiny as they are un-sharpied....but still kinda cool if you're looking for red and green for the holidays. Word of caution- your fingers might get colored as well. But, that's all part of the creative process, right?

Here We Go.....

I have been toying with the idea of a blog to keep you folks up to date on all things stamping....but, frankly, the idea of blogging makes me queasy. Why, I don't know? I guess it's a feeling of being under the microscope....putting my bizness out there for the world to see. But, I certainly don't want to become my G-ma Ely and be calling my daughter every day and saying....now, honey, I want to tape my stories, how do I work this vcr thingy again? So....I'm going to step out of my box, learn how to work this blog thingy and let it all out there. Enjoy!
