Hostess Appreciation

If you are one of my hostesses.....I sure do appreciate you.  I am blessed- truly blessed.   I just had to toot my horn a bit...

1) I am going on 10 years in this stampin' biz and the people I have met, all because of a little rubber stamp and some paper, well....they've worked their way into my heart.

2) I recently received a thank you letter from Stampin' Up! congratulating me on selling $200,000 in my career.  Can you believe that?  That's some serious stamps!  And on top of that....they are giving me $2000!  Holy Schmokes!

It's all because of you....my wonderful stampers.....you are the reason I reach these milestones and I really do appreciate each and every one of you!  I am putting this money away for Convention next year.  I owe it to my business and I owe it to you to go....and bring back all the excitement and ideas.....you are worth it.   So, I'm saying it here and now....anxiety be damned.....I AM going to Salt Lake City next year!!!   I better call my doc and get some new drugs.

So......if you've hosted a workshop for me- I do like that thank a you with a special night of stamping.  It's free, it's fun and it's no strings attached....just to say:  thanks.

My January thru June hostesses came last week and here is what we made:

July thru December hostesses......your time' a coming!   And, if you hostessed a $500 (or more) workshop this year, well, you get to come to 500 club and that is a REAL Par-tay!

July Stamp Club

That's right.....I said it.....JULY!  What the heck?  Where has summer gone?????  Remember, when you were little, summer seemed to last for-ev-ver.  Why does it seem to fly by now?  Do my kids still enjoy the long, lazy days of summer like I did?  Or does it seem fast for them too?  And why DOES school start before Labor Day?  I don't like that....not....one....bit.

Back on track-----Here is what you missed in July:

stamp set:  sail away (summer mini...and it's ain't coming back <sniff, sniff>), teeny, tiny wishes

so....how did I get that distressed edging on this puppy?  Well, I used my clear block like a stamp.  Just inked it up with marina mist and stamped it on my paper- try it! It's cool.

stamp set:  smarty pants
ink:  island indigo
cardstock:  whisper white, lucky limeade, pool party, calypso coral, island indigo, wisteria wonder

Flower Fest

This is one of the stamp sets I received for free due to my Sale a Bration sales.  It is in the current summer mini catalog and boy, was I glad to see it made it into the new idea book and catalog.  It's a cute, whimsical set ....and I love the fact that darn near every image works with one of our punches.

Here are a few cards I've made over the past few weeks.

I am so grateful for SCS and Stampin' Connection.....and for so many demos who are all about sharing!  Some days (ok, most days) I am not feeling creative....I can hop on there and CASE a bunch of ideas and share with you!  Even though I may have swiped their idea, I really do make all my projects!

Enjoy!

Three very cool things

I found both of these ideas on the internet and it's proof that you should never throw anything away!!

I LOVE, Love, love our baker's twine....but mine has unraveled into a big, hot mess.  Then....I found this and I thought: PERFECT!   It's one of our empty button containers!   Just punch a hole in the side with the cropodile and add an eyelet.  I used the spool from an empty ribbon roll and wound the twine around it....stuck the end through the eyelet and BAM.....easy, peesy, mac n cheesy.  Not sure who came up with that, but thank goodness for creative people!

Then one day I was on splitcoast and low and behold.....I found this- the second cool thing!  Holy moly...it uses an empty button case too!

I used the scallop circle for mr. big and a piece of very vanilla cardstock, which I layered onto a piece of cardboard (from the designer paper packs).  Ran both pieces through mr. big and then ran them through again using the lattice embossing folder.

I ran a piece of cardstock around the outside edge of the container and adhered with sticky strip.   I punched out a 2 1/2 in circle from very vanilla and added chocolate chip daisies from the triple layer punch.  Ran that entire piece through mr big with the lattice folder.

The container is attached to the large scallop circle using sticky strip.  I  made a bow out of our 1 1/4 inch grosgrain, added a giant brad and attached with a glue dot.  Of course, everything needs a little bling- so I added rinestones to the flower centers and filled it with mints for a special hostess.
Too stinkin' cute!

The third cool thing is that I feel the need......the need for a giveaway!  So, it's blog candy time!!!!

All you need to do is leave comment below and let me know what your favorite Stampin' Up! color is (current or retired) and you will be entered for a chance to win this:

I know some of you have been having trouble leaving comments, feel free to email.  I'll do the drawing on Monday morning.
Happy Stampin'!

WOW Wednesday

WOW Wednesday in July is a bit early due to my vacation.   We'll be making paper bag scrapbooks (seriously....it's made from brown paper lunch bags) on Wednesday, July 20th at my house at 6pm.

RSVP by July 11th- because this is a product class.  Class fee is $25 and includes:
your own finished album....all ready to add pictures
instructions to make more
your OWN pack of Flirtatious designer paper
your OWN roll of sticky strip
6 bags to make more albums at home

Here are the projects we made at June's WOW Wednesday:

stamp set:  delicate doilies (new)
ink:  island indigo, daffodil delight, lucky limeade
cardstock:  island indigo, whisper white
accessories:  fancy fan letterpress plate, daffodil delight 1/8 taffeta ribbon, 2 1/2 inch circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, mini glue dots

Letterpress plates are pretty cool.  Instead of embossing an image, it debosses it....meaning it pushes the image down into the cardstock instead of raising it up.   We used classic ink here....and it works "ok."  I really like the letterpress with craft inks and even more so with watercolor paper.  WC paper isn't as tightly woven as regular cardstock and really allows for a nice impression.

Diamond Fold Card

stamp set:  flower fest (summer mini)
ink:  pacific point, wild wasabi
cardstock:  whisper white, pacific point, wild wasabi
accessories:  beyond the garden designer paper (summer mini), 2 3/8 scallop circle punch, rhinestones, scoring tool.

Here is the full tutorial......just  CLICK HERE

stamp set:  sail away (summer mini)
ink:  early espresso, versamark, bleach
cardstock:  early espresso, kraft, very vanilla
accessories:  clear embossing powder, corner rounder, espresso bakers twine, 1 inch circle punch, 3/4 circle punch, cropodile, crystal effects, aqua painter.

stamp the sail away image in versamark and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Clear ep takes on whatever color your cardstock is.  Using an aquapainter filled with bleach and color in the sails.

Look carefully at the "button" ....it is made out of paper!  For a full tutorial........CLICK HERE

Enjoy these projects!
